First ever software-only Virtual Matrix Switch offers full functionality at significant savings
DVTel Inc., Security Industry Association award-wining leader in delivering integrated IP security solutions for surveillance and monitoring of assets and facilities, today announced the first software-based solution for matrix switching. The SecureLink Virtual Matrix provides full analog matrix functionality, using a standard matrix keyboard to control the unit, without the need to purchase and install the analog switching fabric of a legacy matrix. DVTels groundbreaking solution offers significant savings by eliminating the most expensive part of the matrix switch, reducing installation time and costs, and enabling full flexibility to add cameras and monitors in increments of one.

The software-based matrix solution is built around standard PC, Ethernet and EtherReach (twisted pair telephone lines) technology and can provide unlimited video inputs and monitor outputs. The system can run independently or interface to standard analog matrix system controllers and peripheral equipment while translating the matrix switching signals to IP network routing commands. All matrix functionality is carried out over the network while preserving the keyboards, text overlays, PTZ protocol generators and other equipment necessary to carry out the matrix mission.

DVTels innovative virtual matrix switch provides a modular design of camera inputs and outputs in increments of a single camera and monitor. Each camera or monitor can be installed anywhere over the network, eliminating the need to run expensive coaxial cables throughout the facility.

The Virtual Matrix Switch is designed to work with the SecureLink Network Video Recording System (NVRS) Platform, a full-featured, enterprise-wide monitoring, surveillance and recording software system that functions as an integration platform for multiple mission-critical security systemsa digital video recorder (DVR), video multiplexer, and video matrix switching system.

Additional high value end user benefits for the Virtual Matrix Switch include:

Supports all major manufacturers CCTV keyboard and matrix controllers

Eliminates the need to buy peripheral GUIs to integrate with standard DVRs and operates in a multi-site distributed architecture where the legacy matrix is not suitable

Smaller footprint than a standard matrix switch

Availability of matrix system capabilities anywhere on the network including viewing of analog monitors and camera control via a CCTV keyboard

Fully integrated matrix and networked video recording capabilities enable both live monitoring and playback of archived video

End users define an unlimited number of multiplexed views to suit their surveillance needs through a fully integrated virtual multiplexer and have unlimited camera sequences within the displays

Sophisticated, yet easy to use, macro-programming provides unparalleled flexibility to respond to new heightened security measures

Instant replay and automatic video loss detection support and fully programmable digital motion detection on all cameras

Fully interactive maps are supported for camera and peripheral monitoring and control
