| MEL Launches New Range of H264 Compatable Products |
As one of the UKs leading manufacturers of CCTV surveillance solutions, MEL Secure Systems is amongst the first to launch a new range of products that utilise the new H264 compression algorithm. This will enable greater use of rapid deployment cameras to provide increased coverage in outlying areas. |

The first of these new products to be unveiled at IIPSEC is an H264 video streamer that enables video to be transmitted over data networks without the bandwidth problems associated with sending MPEG2 or MPEG4 signals. The H264 standard delivers high quality images at a low cost. It also reduces latency making PTZ (pan, tilt and zoom) cameras easier for operators to control. This will lead to a significant uptake in demand for LAN cameras that can be accessed using a web browser such as Internet Explorer.
Also on the stand will be a new H264 compatible Digital Video Recorder (DVR) that stores images on the built-in hard drive and can be accessed via the Internet or data network.
MEL Secure Systems will also be demonstrating its full range of analogue and digital rapid deployment kits, which have a range of applications from town centre cameras through to miniature covert cameras.
