CIEFFE SET NEW INDUSTRY STANDARDS

Cieffe ended 2004 with surge of innovation. Acknowledged in the security market for excellence in digital video-recording systems, on-going innovative development has produced a number of exciting new products that further enhance the PROXIMA and SPECTIVA DVMS series

Most notable is the new LINEARIS Digital Video Management System that represents a mid-level solution between PROXIMA (entry level) and SPECTIVA (top of the line and rich in intelligence functions). Supplementing these is the recent release of NETTUNO, a network codec capable of functioning both as an encoder or decoder, characterized by a new generation DSP chip that allows for compression of IP transmitted images in supreme quality.

One of CIEFFEs objectives in conjunction with its Insignis Technologies research and development associate is to reach top performance with the lowest possible cost to the client. CIEFFE systems are designed to minimise the size of recorded video without compromising quality, often in real time for every connected camera, and therefore optimising storage and bandwidth usage. LINEARIS, the latest of CIEFFEs DVMS uses Cieffes powerful MPEG4 Main Profile algorithm.

CIEFFE are currently moving into new dedicated 2000 square meter offices in the modern Polo Tecnologico Brianza (PTB) Technology Park, combining the headquarters with the offices of Insignis Technologies and TOAR. Recently new to the group TOARs objective is to enhance the logistics side of the group.

This synergy says Fabrizio Colciago, Cieffes IT Director, will enable us to improve efficiently by merging the scientific research and technology with the design and production. As a result we are optimising the whole process from concept to reality; development to delivery, thus improving quality and reducing costs.

CIEFFE at IIPSEC 2005

At IIPSEC 2005 the CIEFFE Group will present the following products:

LINEARIS

LINEARIS, CIEFFEs new Digital Video Management System, available in a new configuration of either 6 or 12 inputs, or in the more traditional 4,8 or 16 input version, which seamlessly combines various recording modes with internal motion detection features, fast search capabilities, external alarm inputs and built in relay outputs. Furthermore LINEARIS offers for the first time a revolutionary scalable solution which provides the ability to increase the number of inputs by simply buying new software licences, therefore eliminating the need for additional hardware modifications.

LINEARIS is ideal for multi-site installations where high performance and reliability are required, together with exceptional video quality and high image rates. Its flexible on-board DSP architecture and proprietary MPEG4 Main Profile compression algorithm consistently delivers superior visual quality at exceptionally low file sizes guaranteeing reduced HDD costs.

SPECTIVA v2.00

SPECTIVA v2.00 is powered by a new CIEFFE designed hardware platform based of 16 DSP microprocessors running in parallel to deliver the startling processing power of 76,800 MIPS (Millions of Instruction per Second). This colossal processing power is sufficient to encode every video channel in real time (25/30 IPS per channel) at full D1 resolution (720x576 pixels / 720 x 480 pixels) with exceptionally high video quality at the least possible bandwidth.

SPECTIVA v2.00 is a true multi-compression DVMS supporting CIEFFE Wavelet 2D, Enpacta (Wavelet 3D), MPEG4 Main Profile. This new hardware DSP based compression engine is capable of switching several compression algorithms on the fly, on a camera by camera basis.

SPECTIVA v2.00 offers a series of innovative features which have been further enhanced. DeePath, CIEFFEs powerful behaviour-analysis algorithm has been linked to the new DSP hardware platform and is now even more accurate thanks to the increased processing power. The video archive has been re-designed to include support for simultaneous storage of video by multiple compression algorithms. This sophisticated database structure has been introduced to allow metadata (any data) to be stored in relation to the recorded video.

Onboard RAID5 storage has been included standard in RT and HP versions, including advanced hot swap functionality, providing high protection against data loss in case of HDD failure. Additionally this facilitates simplified maintenance for large and small installations.

In summary SPECTIVA is an ideal solution for demanding, high-risk environments where performance and reliability are an absolute necessity.

PROXIMA LE NET

The new PROXIMA LE NET DVMS is based on the well established third generation of PROXIMA software and features a fan-less design due to its low power consumption of less than 1 Watt. Its efficient embedded and compact architecture provides greater stability and reliability of the system. This is achieved by solid state flash memory which contains an Embedded Linux Operating System.

PROXIMA LE NET like SPECTIVA v2.00 incorporates an onboard DSP microprocessor, capable of more than 4800 MIPS (Millions of Instruction per Second). This is sufficient to switch compression algorithms on the fly on a per camera basis and encode all cameras at the highest resolution possible with outstanding video quality, all at minimal bandwidth. CIEFFE Enpacta and MPEG4 Main Profile compressions are currently supported at full D1 resolution (720x576 pixels / 720 x 480 pixels).

PROXIMA LE NET is an ideal solution for demanding, remote multi site installations where high performance and reliability are essential, and where space or bandwidth is limited.

NETTUNO

NETTUNO is the most powerful DSP based, standalone, network codec available today. This state-of-the art surveillance technology codec has a processing speed of 600 MHz and processing power of 4800 MIPS. NETTUNOs video quality and compression/ decompression out-performs any similar product or platform on todays market.

Designed to be completely solid state with no fans or moving parts NETTUNO is extremely compact in size (90 mm (W) x 120 mm (D) x 35 mm (H)). Its power consumption (<5 W) is minimum, making it the perfect choice for almost any environment.

In encoder mode NETTUNO can connect a single composite video camera and audio channel to the network and transmit D1 resolution (4CIF @ 720x576 pixels / 720 x 480 pixels) video and stereo audio in real time using a variety of compression algorithms (including Enpacta and MPEG4 Main Profile). Furthermore it can be effortlessly integrated as a network camera in any SPECTIVA (v 2.00 or higher). Video output can be viewed live, analyzed, and recorded as if it was produced by a conventional camera connected to SPECTIVA via coax. NETTUNO can use SD Memory to provide video data buffering and eliminate video recording loss due to network disruption or failure.

In decoder mode NETTUNO acts as a network interface for a CCTV monitor in CIEFFE SiteManager. It can output composite video signal (and single audio channel) from any network connected NETTUNO or SPECTIVA v2.00 or higher to the CCTV monitor. Full resolution, MPEG4 Main Profile or Enpacta decoding in single camera is supported.

VISION POCKET

VisionPocket is the world's first enterprise level Digital CCTV software suite released for handheld and mobile device and the Microsoft PocketPC platforms.

It is a fully functional client application for all CIEFFE DVMS, bringing a video /audio control room for small and large Digital CCTV installations into your mobile phone or WiFi (wireless) PDAs.

Proprietary advanced compression algorithms (DeltaWavelet and Enpacta ) developed by CIEFFE transmit very high image quality and image rates even at very low bandwidths, such as the GPRS bandwidth available on mobile telephone networks.
